Resumen:
An on-linescandiumpreconcentrationanddeterminationsystemimplementedwithinductivelycoupled
plasma opticalemissionspectrometryassociatedwith flowinjectionwasstudied.Traceamountsof
scandium werepreconcentratedbysorptiononaminicolumnpackedwithoxidizedmultiwalledcarbon
nanotubes, atpH1.5.Theretainedanalytewasremovedfromtheminicolumnwith30%(v/v)nitricacid.
A totalenrichmentfactorof225-foldwasobtainedwithinapreconcentrationtimeof300s(fora25mL
sample volume).Theoveralltimerequiredforpreconcentrationandelutionof25mLofsamplewas
about 6min;thethroughputwasabout10samplesperhour.Thevalueofthedetectionlimitwas
4 ngL1 and theprecisionfor10replicatedeterminationsat100ngL1 Sc levelwas5%relativestandard
deviation, calculatedfromthepeakheightsobtained.Thecalibrationgraphusingthepreconcentration
systemwaslinearwithacorrelationcoefficient of0.9996atlevelsnearthedetectionlimitsuptoatleast
10mgL1. Afteroptimization,themethodwassuccessfullyappliedtothedeterminationofScinanacid
drainagefromanabandonedminelocatedintheprovinceofSanLuis,Argentina.
