Resumen:
The viscoelastic properties of erythrocytes (obtained in a diffractometric experiment) are characterized from the perspective of fractional calculus, with the ultimate aim of linking the erythrocytes’ rheological properties with clinical aspects (to be able to distinguish e.g. between healthy, beta thalassemic, or dyslipidemic cells). The steep rise of the creep curves, not describable by with classical models of viscoelasticity, is qualitatively reproduced by a linear model containing the fractional time derivative of the shear strain, for parameters typical of living matter.
