Resumen:
We study the synchronization properties of a ring of excitable FitzHugh?Nagumo cells, when nearest-neighbor units are coupled either diffusively through their inhibitor fields, or antidiffusively through their activator fields. The system is submitted to a common subthreshold adiabatic signal S(t), and independent Gaussian white noises with common variance . The germ of the numerically observed stochastic-resonant spatiotemporal self-organization of the excitation activity, is captured in a two-cell model for which both analytical and experimental results are discussed.
