Resumen:
Geology of Las Cañas Plutonic Complex (LCPC): Famatinian magmatism in the northeast of the Sierra de San Luis. The LCPC is a small plutonic (hornblendites, gabbros, tonalites and granodiorites) representant of the Famatinian magmatism, hosted in the metasedimentary basement of the Conlara Metamorphic Complex. Based on field relationships, petrography, mineral chemistry, whole-rock compositions and an U-Pb laser-ablation (LA-Q-ICPMS) zircon age, we indicated that the rocks of the LCPC show arc signature, and were developed in distal positions (300 km) from Famatinian orogen axis as result of a constant heat flow derived from an extend asthenospheric wedge, plus dehydration of subducted slab.
