This article presents an opinion study on the usefulness of an electronic device that monitors the cuff´s pressure of the endotracheal tube in hospitalized patients. We used a qualitative methodology through structured interviews with open-ended responses to the heads of the intensive care units of the seven hospitals in the city of Bahía Blanca (Argentina). The results reveal that the device might be a valuable tool to: monitor the pressure in a precise and systematized way, avoid the errors observed with the manual mechanism and to improve the quality of life of intubated patients reducing complications during and after hospitalization.
