Resumen:
By means of coupling photovoltaic generation with active power filters in extensive electrical networks or in isolated systems, power quality can be greatly improved and power losses can be reduced as well. The devise presented in this work can achieve these goals by injecting active power into the system. It also can reduce the reactive power through lines, keep the voltage at buses within admissible levels, increase the power factor of loads, and reduce the occurrence of harmonics. This paper develops the model of the proposed device, along with operative simulations carried out to determine its proper performance before its implementation. The analysis of model component features and simulation results renders as well a detailed insight into the improvements attained over the system operation.
