Resumen:
In this work, the modeling and simulation of a flywheel energy storage system (FESS) is presented. The detailed modeling approach is carried out by using SimPowerSystems of MATLAB/Simulink. The main components of the FESS include a low speed flywheel, an induction machine, a voltage source inverter, a continuous voltage source and the global control system. This control scheme is operated as a direct torque controller and a speed regulator of the FESS. The analysis of simulations permits to study the dynamic performance of the proposed flywheel during the process of storing/delivering electric power.
