Resumen:
This lecture discusses a novel three-phase grid-connected small wind energy conversion system used as a distributeg generation system. The proposed wind power generator incorporates a maximum power point tracker (MPPT) for optimal use of the wind resource. In addition, reactive power compensation of the electric grid is included, operating simultaneously and independently of the active power generation. The wind turbine generator (WTG) consists of a variable speed wind turbine and the MPPT is implemented via a DC-DC boost converter. A multi-level voltage source inverter (VSI) is used as interface with the AC power grid.  Validation of models and control algorithms is performed by using experimental results using a small-scale prototype.
