Resumen:
The role of the State and its instrumentalization through public policies has a strong influence on the reduction of poverty and inequality. This is how, as at a time of socio-economic crisis, the most vulnerable sectors have greater impact and result in the search for containment in community and state administrative bodies. Children in a situation of poverty are affected and hindered in the stage of psychosocial development in which they find themselves, when global crises that affect the local arise. The present work has the purpose of identifying and describing the predominance of income in childhood institutions (orphanages) of children in stages of prevailing psychosocial development and its relationship with the lack of sustainable development policies in times of economic crisis in the province of Mendoza. This study includes 500 records of children institutionalized in the DINAF in the period from 1994 to 2003 in the province of Mendoza Argentina. This work is in the process of analysis, which is why results are not yet offered. The results will provide data referring to the stages of development of children in which it is necessary to provide greater assistance to their families and to children in particular, at a time of social crisis.
