Resumen:
The engineer must put aside their purely technical role to get involved in meeting the demands of society. This task can only be achieved by taking into account both environmental and economic sustainability in the design stages of new techniques and technologies and also in the operating stages. That is why environmental issues in engineering curricula should be presented to the student since the beginning of their training. This paper exposes the experience of including issues related to environmental sciences in courses that do not have these topics in its programs, in the careers such us Civil and Chemistry Engineering. They were incorporated as open seminars, discussions and audiovisual aids. Both the modality and the topics covered were well accepted among students and aroused their interest in environmental issues with an objective view from the engineering point of view
