Resumen:
This work presents thermal and energy evaluation of a
house of 87m2 finished in the year 2006 in the city of Mendoza, Argentina.
(32º40SL, 68º51WL, 750 m.a.s.l.). Its typology is influenced by the crystal houses of
Johnson and Mies Van Der Rohe of North European Rational Movement and has been
constructed with contemporary technology that attends the needs of a higher
energy efficiency. Transparent constructed elements represent the 25.5%
of the total of exposed envelope are materialized with hermetic double glazing,
coloured laminated glass and high performance carpentry. Only horizontal opaque
constructive elements incorporate thermal insulation.On site temperature measurements and energy audits
were performed on periods of June and July of 2009 and on January 2010,
corresponding to winter and summer on the Southern Hemisphere. Obtained results and recommendations to
improve its performance are presented.
