Resumen:
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is an environmental tool widespread in most industrialised countries and, recently, in developing countries, but its use is limited due to the lack of regional inventories and concerns about the applicability of the usual impact assessment methods in studies performed in these countries. The purpose of this paper is to show the modelling differences and choices to be made for the determination of site-dependent acidification factors in western arid region of Argentina. Site-factors (SF) for acidifcation category in the region considered resulted to be null. The procedure proposed for calculating site factors provides a regional approach for calculating site factors avoiding the use of foreign site-dependent or site-generic factors in LCA studies performed in the region.
