Resumen:
Xenarthrans have been kept in captive conditions for over a century and have awoken interest and curiosity in generations of visitors. Recently, important progress has been made in understanding the specific needs of several species. Successful breeding, however, is still rare for most species. This chapter explores the most common difficulties associated with the captive maintenance and breeding of armadillos, anteaters, and sloths, and gives a brief overview of appropriate husbandry conditions.
