Resumen:
An integrated information about palynomorphs and megafloras of the Neuquén Basin (Argentina) and a review of Jurassic megafloras of Patagonia are presented. The composition of Jurassic palynofloras of the Neuquén Basin is summarized, the most characteristic terrestrial and aquatic morphospecies are illustrated and the palynozones are represented in a table. From the Middle Callovian through the Late Jurassic the stratigraphic resolution of the dinoflagellate cysts is comparable to the detailed biostratigraphy based on ammonite faunas. The paleogeographic significance and the supraregional relations of the assemblages of dinoflagellate cysts are explained. The paleoenvironmental and paleoclimatic significance of the marine and continental palynobiota are considered and a model which explains the relations between climate, relief and vegetation in the Middle Jurassic of the Neuquén Basin is presented.
