Resumen:
This paper presents a crustal model of the North Patagonian Massif (NPM) area using gravity and seismic constraints. This massif presents high elevations when compared with surrounding areas and the timing of the uplift seems to be relatively well constrained between the Paleocene and the Oligocene. However, there is not internal deformation in the massif and the authors raise the question about the origin of its elevation. The approach they follow is to use as many geophysical data as available to constrain the structure of the crust. They conclude that the crust is thickened and thus, the elevation might have an isostatic origin
