Resumen:
Auxin/indole-3-acetic acid (Aux/IAA) proteinsare transcriptional repressors that regulate auxin-mediatedgene expression by interacting with members of the auxinresponse factor (ARF) family. We previously identified thefirst Solanum tuberosum Aux/IAA member, StIAA1, as astress-responsive gene. In this report, we described thatStIAA1 interacts with TIR1 auxin receptor suggesting aconserved participation in auxin signaling pathway. Inaddition, protein–protein interaction between StIAA1 andnew members of S. tuberosum Aux/IAA (StIAA3 andStIAA4) and ARF (StARF1) families was demonstrated.Furthermore, thirteen other members of the S. tuberosumAux/IAA family were identified by in silico analysis. Thisoverall view of auxin signaling components in a Solanaceaecontributes to enrich the understanding of this hormonalpathway in other plants phylogenetically distantfrom A. thaliana.
