The essay shows how translation is an accurate and rich field to explore the cultural history of nations, their foundations, laws, literacy, sciences,  politics as well as social behaviors which often happen to be shaped by means of import from foreign worlds and languages and to be adapted- translated- according to the own needs. These practices can be researched throughout the times and geographies especially in the case of Spanish speaking South America since the Discovery by focusing on translators and on circulation of translated texts in different moments and places of the subcontinent.
