Resumen:
Although we had once a relatively good development level, including social policies and research during the last 30 years we have had several economic, political and social crises. The last and worst starting in 1998 and reaching its highest point in 2001, just during the data collection period of the WHO study. This study, along with Argentina’s participation in the ERCAAP project were the first and (pretty much only[1]) studies up to today providing evidence as to the relationship of alcohol and injuries in the country, and even more, describing the prevalence of alcohol related visits in the ER.   [1] There is one study syndicating alcohol as a risk factor for femur fractures, one study evaluating alcohol involvement in inpatients and outpatients and one more on ER patients.
