Resumen:
In this article, a methodology to control a battery/supercapacitor electric vehicle is presented. The proposed control methodology is based on the passivity-based approach with the main objective of fulfilling the power requirements due to an aggressive driving cycle and also exploiting the use of the supercapacitor to extend the battery life. The performance of the control methodology is extensively assessed through computer simulations using a comprehensive nonlinear model of the vehicle. The results show that the controlled system accomplishes the control task with good responses under a demanding standard driving cycle.
