Resumen:
The main contribution of this paper is the validation and comparison of several state-of-the-art watermark perceptual metrics used to quantify watermark transparency in still images. The validation of the metrics is carried out through subjective assessment by adapting a standardized technique for image quality assessment. Simulation results show that a metric based on S-CIELAB perceptual distortion maps exhibits the best correlation between subjective tests and the objective values. The Image Adaptive Watermarking methods in the DiscreteWavelet Transform Domain considered in this paper are compared using the proposed perceptual metric. Robustness against JPEG compression of the watermarking methods is also analyzed.
