Resumen:
Bahia Blanca Harbour System, the largest and deepest of Argentina, presents all its harbours along theNorthern coast of the Canal Principal . Whereas extensive tidal flats, low salt marshes and islandsdevelopment to the South. There is very little information on contribution of these tidal flats to the mainchannel. Recently some surveys have been carried out to obtain suspended sediment balance on the channel, but still there is no records on velocity or suspended sediment transport right over the tidal flats. ADVcurrent metre measurements were taken over the tidal flats and a small channel at 25 Hz, 18 cm above thebottom, and suspended sediment profiles using OBS-MiniCTD equipment during the inundation period.Suspended sediment transport is estimated over the tidal channel and turbulence spectrum are presented.Quadrant analysis of the turbulence is showed and ejections characteristics (duration, separations andmaximum Reynolds stress). Bottom shear stress is estimated through the Turbulent Kinetics Energy methodas well as its variation in time.
