Resumen:
The aim of this work was physicochemical characterization an drug release evaluation of novel hydrogels based on polyelectrolite-ciprofloxacin ionic complexes using a new dendritic polymer (DP). The DP is a vinyl monomer of a behera´s amine derivative which have carboxylic pending groups with the capacity of interact ionically with piperazil cationic amine of ciprofloxacin. The ionic complexes were evaluated by FT-IR, PDRX, Thermal analysis and optical microscopy. Stable and viscosus hydrogels were obtained, which showed controlled release ciprofloxacin toward different media. In addition, high biocompatibility and low toxicity of DP and its complexes was demonstrated by in vitro and in vivo assays. The new hydrogels have promising physicochemical and biopharmaceutical properties to be used in teh design of controlled drug delivery systems with potential utilities in topical and mucosal opportunist infections treatment.
