Resumen:
Satellite imagery was used to gain knowledge
on spatial distribution, over afine spatial seale, of the
small Patagonian oetopus and to relate it with
environmental variables of signifieanee (Iow tide line
and extension of the roeky shore). Detailed spatial
loeations of oetopus were reeorded with differential GPS
during eoastaI surveys performed during 2005-2007.
Coastalline of the study area was redrawn from remotesensed
CBERS images. Distanees from oetopus loeations
to the near point of the low tide line were eaIculated.
This allowed us to identify a seasonal pattern and
evaluate the way in whieh this distanee intluenees
oetopus distribution.
