The immediate effect of the operating flow increase in a drinking water treatment plant is theresidence time decrease and the flow pattern modification in the treatment units, thusinterfering with the correct functioning of the flocculation and sedimentation processes. In thepresent paper, we tested a methodology for treatment efficiency evaluation in a drinkingwater treatment plant where the operating flow was increased. The procedure was based onthe operating parameters verification and its comparison with reference values. The resultsshowed that the assessment of residence time, velocity gradient, the Camp number andlongitudinal velocity, and its comparison with widely available bibliography, offers a simplemethodological alternative for the efficien
