Resumen:
The Sn-K edge EXAFS spectra of Co0.05Sn0.95O2 nanoparticles (Np) with rutile structure were collected by means of High Pressure X-Ray Absorption Spectroscopy (HP-XAS) with synchrotron radiation in a Diamond Anvil Cell (DAC). Sn-O distances were calculated from ambient pressure and up to 12 GPa. When these Sn-O distances were adjusted with a linear regresion, its slope was the same compared to the one reported by Haines et. al [1] for the rutile structure of bulk SnO2. It was also the same slope we obtained by performing a linear fit on Sn-O distances calculated for pure SnO2 nanoparticles obtained by previous HP-X Ray Diffraction experiments. From this it could be concluded that doping SnO2 nanoparticles with 5% of Co does not significantly affect its mechanical properties between the limits of assessment of our work
