Resumen:
We performed high pressure X-ray Diffraction experiments on nanoparticles of pure tin oxide (particle size 30nm) and Fe doped tin oxide (particle size 18nm). The pure tin dioxide (SnO2) nanoparticles structural behavior was studied up to 32 GPa while the Fe-doped tin dioxide (formula: Fe0.1Sn0.9O2) nanoparticles were studied up to 19 GPa with X-ray synchrotron radiation. We have found that both samples present a structural phase transition from the tetragonal rutile-type P42/mnm at ambient temperature to a CaCl2-type structure (space group Pnnm) at ~10GPa. Additionally, pure tin oxide presented a fluorite-type phase transition at ~25 GPa (space group Fm3m). The cell constants, as well as the bulk modulus and bulk modulus first derivative are reported.
