Resumen:
Presence of fibrous antigorite in talc deposits in the province of Mendoza. Potential risk for health: Fibrous minerals associated with serpentinized ultrabasic rocks in Rivadavia and La Mendocina talc mines (Department of Uspallata, province of Mendoza) were studied. By X-ray diffraction and optical microscopy they were determined as antigorite in both mines. Although the laws in Argentina prohibit the use and commercialization of chrysotile and asbestiform amphiboles, toxicological studies performed by other authors suggest the need to evaluate the dangerousness of asbestiform antigorite in health
