The El Porvenir-El Refugio Project is located in the northeast of the province of Chubut (S42º 08´ 04.9´´ y W65º 24´ 39.8´´). The deposit would be a porphyry molybdenum and copper. The box rock would be a granite that is intruding to the metamorphic basement and is covered by more than 100 meters for ignimbrite that contain fragments of the granitic mineralized rock. The alteration of the box rock is complex, superposition of different types (chlorine, potassium, silicified, sericitized) is observed. The molibdenite and chalcopyrite is in vines and disseminated in the granite. By study of the stratigraphy of the area, the intrusive age could be permotriasic.
