Resumen:
Small outcrops of troctolitic metagabbros in the Ñorquinco Lake area (southern part of the Aluminé Igneous-Metamorphic Complex), contain Cu-Fe and Ni disseminated sulfides. Calculated partition coefficients between minerals and whole rock (KD= C(i)mineral/C(i)melt) indicate that these elements have not been concentrated on primary silicates, but have been associated with sulfur to form pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite and pentlandite. This type of mineralization associated to troctolitic gabbros has been found in others economically important deposits around the world, like Merensky Reef (Bushveld Complex), Windimurra (Australia) and Stillwater (Montana, EEUU). This is the first mention of Cu-Fe-Ni mineralization for the basement rocks of the igneous-metamorphic complex of the region.
