Resumen:
Starting with our previous model developed to describe the parasite-antibody interaction during Chagas disease, we studied the differentoutcomes when the parasites belong to two different lineages. Clinically is observed that there are two major phylogenetic lineages,T. cruzi I and T. cruzi II, typically associated with sylvatic or domestic cycles. Our model predicts the existence of 3 possible steady states: a) Cure, with the complete elimination of both parasites types, and b) andc) Chronic state, where one parasite linage reach an equilibrium with the immune system, while the other is eliminated. This result, combined with the different characteristics of each lineage, could be the explanation of the prevalence of alineage in the sylvatic transmission and the other in the domesticWe also show some phase diagrams and picture portraits of the joint infection of different types of parasites.
