Resumen:
Electrically-induced metastable structures in the nematic phase have been studied by optical videomicroscopy methods. Regular hexagonalstructures were observed in electrooptical cells with gaps of 127 microns and 250 microns. Quasi-3D hexagonal patterns were induced by combining sinusoidal alternate electric fields with DC offsets. Memory effects and the role of flexoelectric and dielectric interactions are  discussed. Charge injection effects and electroconvective dynamics is also considered.
