Resumen:
Air core electromagnets were usuallyconsidered for the fast switching of the magnetic field in field-cycling NMRtechnology1-7. Typical technical requirements for the coils are highfield-to-power  ratio, adequate electricperformance for fast-switching of the field and NMR-compatible field homogeneitywithin the sample volume. We will describe the problem in general and showexperimental details on a recent prototype of an alpha-helical-cut notch?coilgeometry with movable pieces having tunable homogeneity and uniformlydistributed power dissipation8.  [1]- K-H.
