Resumen:
This book is a synthesis of the tasks and research experiences carried out inthe Laboratory of Signal Processing and Communications (LaPSyC), CONICET,Universidad Nacional del Sur, Argentine, since 2003.It includes broadly known models and techniques, used in the signal processingcommunity, which facilitates their application and understanding.Emphasis is placed on methodologies of low complexity and scalable to differentapplications. It also emphasizes measures of performance and impact of eachcompensation technique in the corresponding context. To allow a more direct reading, not only for academic community but alsofor industry, the contents are divided into three parts: (1) basic models, (2)compensation techniques, and (3) applications in advanced technologies. The first part describes, on the one hand, basic architectures of transceivers andtheir component blocks, and on the other, modulation techniques. Together theydescribe the behavior to be taken into account, regardless of the distortions tocompensate produced by the specific technologies of implementation. In the second part, several schemes of compensation and/or reduction ofimperfections are addressed, among which we highlight: linearization of poweramplifiers, compensation of the characteristic of analog-to-digital converters, andCFO compensation for OFDM modulation. In the third part, some of the previous techniques are used in modern applicationsof wireless communications systems such as full-duplex transmission, massiveMIMO schemes, and finally applications in internet of things.
