Resumen:
Advanced control techniques for microalgal cultures usually demand the knowledge of several component concentrations which are, however, not always measurable online. In this context, inclusion of state estimation algorithms has a defining role. In this study, a software sensor is designed in the form of a combination of an extended sliding observer with two reduced order Luenberger ones. The contribution of this work is dedicated to the formulation of a state estimation approach for a five-state model of Isochrysis galbana growth under the influence of light irradiance. Inclusion of light incidence in microalgae growth forces to avoid existing estimation approaches that consist in a three-state representation based on Droop model dynamics. Performance of developed observer is illustrated by means of numerical simulations.
