Resumen:
In this paper, some main features of the design and implementation of a Real-Time Operating System are presented. The hierarchical model to schedule task from the theoretical point of view tothe implementation is explained. In addition, several implementation improvements related to the reduction of kernel overhead are also proposed. A comparative analysis shows how differents RTOS implement the scheduling process. Finally, an experimental evaluation is exposed. This evaluation shows the inuence of each kernel improvement to the overall performance of the system.
