Resumen:
This paper studies the subsynchronous control interactions when several DFIG-based wind farms are connected to a radial corridor with series capacitive compensation. Previous reults shown that, when a single wind farm is considered, the appearance of subsynchronous oscillations is associated to a Hopf bifurcation of the subsynchronous mode of the electric grid. This phenomenon depends on system parameters such as the compensation level, the wind speed, the installed wind power capacity and the network impedances. The stability boundary in case of multiple wind farms is not trivial and varies according to the combined effects of the parameters. For example, the stability of a given system depends on how the installed power is distributed among the wind farms, and on the transmission network characteristics. The analysis presented begins with two generic wind farms connected to a radial line. Then, the results are extended by considering a scenario where several wind power modules are added to a radial corridor in Patagonia, Argentina.
