Resumen:
The ladder converters architecture is a distributedmaximum power point tracking (MPPT) scheme capable ofvirtually eliminating mismatch problems. These converters onlyoperate on power difference between their connected photovoltaic(PV) devices. As in any converter, ripple is always present in thecurrent and voltage signals, and is commonly neglected by usingover sized passive filters. The impact of ripple in the harvestingprocess from a PV device is discussed in this work. The ripplethat propagates from the ladder converter architecture to thePV device is also studied. Combining both analysis results in acalculation method for the minimum low pass filter required toextract 99% of the available dc power. Simulation are performedto validate the analysis, showing a high correlation with themethod?s results.
