This work presents a scheme of current balance implemented with Cuk converters for ´PV panels, which allow controlling the current thateach cell generates and therefore drive each cell toits maximum power point (MPP). Ladder converterarchitectures offer substantial improvements compared to traditional solutions since each converter onlyneeds to process the power difference between seriesconnected photovoltaic (PV) devices (module, substring, cells). A simple case, connecting just three PVcells is studied in this work. The strategy for balancing the current produced by each cell is developed.The work includes the circuit topology under analysis,the control strategy for each converter and simulationresults that validate the proposal.
