Resumen:
The Carboniferous glaciations inGondwanaland were related to different processes.However, the uplift over the paleo equilibrium-linealtitude, where glaciers can preserve, is considered themost plausible explanation. On the base on the comparisonbetween estimations of different paleoelevations, wepropose that the glaciated high elevations of SWGondwana were overcompensated by sublithosphericforces (mantle upwelling).
