Resumen:
This paper forms part of a Baryonic Tully-Fisher relation study to determine the history of star formation and the mass of stars locked up in galactic disks. In the first part of this project (this paper) we pin down optical counterparts of our \textrm{H\,\scriptsize{I}}-selected sample using spectroscopic observations.
