Abstract. The usual strong and sudden energy release sources that necessarily lead to modeexcitation suggest the importance of shocks and nonlinear waves in the corona. We discussthe importance of nonlinear waves as an alternative capable to accurately match observationalcases of the coronal seismology usually interpreted as linear waves. We present two case studieswhere we explore the goodness of the shock wave interpretation in magnetic structures of thelow corona.
