From lenses movements to cognitive processes: What eye tracking provide

The registration of the eye movements is turning into a common technique in games, business, marketing, science, etc.. It is also turning into an important tool for diagnosis of diverse pathologies like Autism, Alzheimer, etc. In this contribution we discuss carefully the information obtained when measuring the eye movements of a person when performing a cognitive task. First, we identify on the data acquired the relevant information about the dynamic of the eye-ball and the eye lenses. A model for the dynamic is presented. The model includes parameters associated to the damping of the system and the elasticity of the eye muscles and lenses. On the other hand, using Multifractal Detrended Fluctuation Analysis we identify the characteristics associated to the different cognitive paradigms.
