Resumen:
Collecting was carried out in the Velasco and Famatina mountain range (La Rioja province) in order to determine which earthworms species were present. This region is characterized by a warm, continental, semiarid climate, with large day-night temperature variations, scarce rainfall, and xerophytic, sparse shrubby vegetation. A peregrine species: Eukerria saltensis, and four introduced European and West-Asian species: Aporrectodea  rosea, A. trapezoides, Dendrodrilus rubidus y Octolasion tyrtaeum, were present. No earthworms were found away from the margins of water courses and irrigation ditches. All these species are recorded for the first time from the Province of La Rioja.
