Resumen:
Given the fact that the literary systems and the publishing markets represent nations (and not merely languages), it must be assumed that they are developed in relation to the States. As this bond is not self-evident few researches are dedicated to it. The aim of this article is to emphasize the action of the State in the making of translations between Argentina and Brazil. It studies the cultural and political conditions that promoted the edition, from 1937 to 1950, of the Collection of Brazilian Authors Translated to Castilian and a Brazilian Collection of Argentinian Authors. Over the background of a longue durée history of the Argentinean translation of Brazilian authors and the Brazilian translation of Argentinian authors, contrasts between times and possibilities for a sustenaible and diversified publishing exchange between peripheral countries emerge.
