Resumen:
Of the three centers that dominate the Spanish language book publishing geography,Spain, Mexico and Argentina, the Argentine production has played and continues to play a central role as introducer of French authors of social and human sciences in this publishing geography. In this sense, this chapter addresses the dynamics of this area of the editorial activity between 1990 and 2011, from the survey and quantitative analysis of translated authors and titles, and thequalitative approach to the publishing houses, mediators and translators that allowed this circulation. As shown in this chapter, French stands out as the most translated language: the number of books translated from French is more than twice that of translations from English, counting both American and British titles. In order to relativize the significance of the language and national origin of social and human sciences authors and ideas translated in Argentina, this work compares the flows of translations from five languages: French, English, German, Italian and Portuguese
