Resumen:
Research on the effect of different hypertext interfaces for expository texts found differencesin both navigation and comprehension as a function of prior domain knowledge asa subject factor. This study varied hypertext structure and previous domain knowledge,and examined the effects on time spent looking at an overview, returns to overview, andjumps in navigation path. Results suggest that structure and level of previous knowledgelead to different navigational characteristics.
