Resumen:
The behaviour of immersed spheres moving in one and two-fluid systems is determined by the solution of two mainproblems, which are the fluid dynamics and the rigid body dynamics. The fluid problem is solved with a stabilizedfinite element method, with an interface capturing technique for the two-fluid flow cases. The body dynamics isfollowed with a Newton scheme, that require velocities and pressures from the flow field in order to determine theexternal forces over the sphere and, then, the corresponding displacements inside the domain. This multiphysicscoupling strategy is applied to different analytical and experimental cases, with special emphasis on a sloshingcase in a tank with a baffle.
