Resumen:
The objective of this work is the thermo-fluid dynamics modelling of a distribution transformer using vegetal (esters) oils and produced by Tadeo Czerweny The analysis requires the determination of power losses and heat generation. The electromagnetic simulation is taking place in Ansys® EM solver and for CFD modeling Code_Saturne is used. A specific interface was created for a weak coupling between both solver. The thermal and electrical characteristics are also analyzed and discussed. The results are compared with respect to mineral oils for both numerical and experimental data.
