Pollution processes within both temperate and tropical estuarine systems from Argentina and Brasil were compared. Bahia Blanca estuary (in Argentina) and Fortaleza coastal system (NE Brazil) were fully studied. Processe as identified in the last 20 years were considered and discussed within this framework
