Resumen:
Toral mercury. cadmium. and zinc accumulation was studied in muse/e andlil:er of three species ofshark.from rhe Bahía Blanca estuary, Argentina. Themercury concentrations 1vere similar in both muse/e ( range: 0·77-2·99 μg/g)and liver (0·79-2·26μg/g) of the analy::ed species. Concentrations ofcadmium and zinc were higher in liver than in muse/e. The ffequent'ydistrihutions oj.metal concentratíons 1verejOund to he log-normal. The metalconcentrations increased proportionally to the total length uf the sharks.Significan! dijj'erence::.~attributable to !ocation in the estuary-in metalconcentrations Wli're not found. Dietary differences among species of' sharkseemed to he the most importan! causes jOr d(fferences in their metalconcentrations.
